Cold storage presents unique challenges in terms of safety, equipment-size, and logistics. Keeley is experienced in these areas and we will help you develop the right project to meet the needs of your company both now and in the future. During the design-build phase, we’ll go through all of your requirements to create a safe, efficient, accessible space.

Ruprecht Meat Company
Ruprecht Meat Company approached Keeley to assist with a buildout to consolidate three facilities into one state-of-the-art meat processing facility. The buildout required a complete remodel of an existing 107,000 SF structure to accommodate a 45 SF freezer/cooler, as well as large processing equipment for cooking and packaging. With future growth in mind, Keeley helped construct space that’s expandable, efficient, and modern.

Preferred Freezer
One of the largest cold chain logistics providers in the world, Preferred Freezer needed access to ports, railyards and temperature-controlled trucking in their Chicago cold storage facilities. Keeley built the #2 & #3 Chicago sites for the company. The first build included accommodations for three freezers totaling over 125,000 SF of space. The facility is operated by unmanned cranes and conveyors, requiring an extensive placement and retrieval system and a 1,000 KVA backup generator.
