Kuehne & Nagel
Since its entrance into the Chicago area, airfreight forwarder Kuehne & Nagel has built three facilities. For each one, they’ve called us.
Their latest new construction project was designed by Heitman Architects, is located in Prologis Park O’Hare and consists of 27,000 square feet of office space and 152,000 square feet of warehouse space. They needed Inside the office area are 152 workstations and 22 private offices, as well as conference rooms and open meeting rooms. Other spaces include those for dispatching, training, receiving, foodservice and locker rooms. Interior finishes include polished concrete flooring and countertops, broadloom carpet, hollow metal door frames with side and transom lights, and high cube ceilings with floating grid, 2×4 tile and axiom trim. The warehouse is outfitted with 31 dock doors, 2 of them oversized. It has 30 positions with dock levelers between 40,000 and 60,000 lbs, manual trailer restraints with interior and exterior LED reg/green lights, and dock seals. The warehouse also has a trucker’s cage, compactor, x-ray scanner and residue test stations.
