Consolidation of (3) separate food preparation facilities into a singular location consisting of cooking operation, a raw process operation, and a cold storage facility in chicago. The existing 107,000 sf building in mundelein, il was completely gutted. All existing warehouse floors were removed a portion of the existing office was taken down and the existing sub-grade was excavated to accommodate the new freezer and cooler slabs. Addressing the strict cross contamination requirements set forth by the usda and fda proved to be a very challenging task coupled with the constant changing consumer demands regarding the numerous products made by ruprecht meats. The mundelein facility will serve as a state of the art food processing and preparation plant encompassing the latest technology in food preparation and distribution as well as looking forward to green technology.
